Arizona fires - Fanned by wind gusts up to 35 mph, the Monument Fire burning outside of Sierra Vista on Thursday afternoon jumped a highway and forced new evacuations that stirred chaos and a traffic jam, authorities said.

The fire is growing and moving in several directions, said Denise Shultz, a fire information officer. By mid-afternoon, authorities report the fire had for the first time jumped to the east side of Arizona 92 and was moving northeast, prompting more evacuations.

British, French helicopters strike Gadhafi troops

British Apache and French attack helicopters struck targets for the first time in NATO's campaign in Libya, targeting and hitting Moammar Gadhafi's troops early Saturday near a key coastal oil city.

The action was a significant step-up in NATO's operations and a major boost to Libyan rebels, just a day after rebel fighters forced government troops from three western towns and broke the siege of a fourth in yet another break-down of Gadhafi's power since the eruption in mid-February of the uprising to end his 42-year rule.

Al-Qaida militant killed in US strike in Pakistan

A top al-Qaida commander and rumored replacement for Osama bin Laden was killed in an American drone-fired missile strike close to the Afghan border, a fax from the militant group he heads and a Pakistani intelligence official said Saturday.

Ilyas Kashmiri's apparent death is another blow to al-Qaida just over a month after bin Laden was killed by American commandos in a northwest Pakistani army town. Described by U.S. officials as al-Qaida's military operations chief in Pakistan, the 47-year-old Pakistani was one of five most-wanted militant and dangerous leaders in the country, accused of a string of bloody attacks in South Asia, including the 2008 Mumbai massacre, as well as aiding plots in the West. Washington had offered a $5 million bounty for information leading to his location.

Of course, troops continue to serve in Afghanistan. If you would like to help support the families of our troops, go to http://www.operationhomefront.net/

Justin Beiber would sing with Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber who recently admitted to having a relationship with Selena Gomez, has revealed that he would love to sing with her.
